 3. NetCommons' structure

(1) Overall structure and usage

Welcome to NetCommons!

There are three levels to NetCommons -- the top page,My Room, and Group Room. Each of these levels contains rooms. These rooms can be reached from the Menu on the left (the left frame).

Each room in turn is made up of pages, and each page contains modules, tools for sharing information. Bulletin Boards, chat rooms, and quizzes are examples of modules.

The Top Page can be viewed by anyone, not just members of your group. Clicking one of the rooms listed below the Top Page in the Menu will change the content of the right frame.

My Room and Group Room will be displayed only after you have logged in.

My Room is your private webpage. No one but you can view it (not even administrators), so use it as your online study. Click here for details on how to use My Room.

Group Room is a webpage for sharing information with other NetCommons users.

To start with, click Group Room in the left frame. The names of the rooms you can participate in will be displayed at the lower right.

Next, click the name of the room you want to view. The names of the pages in that room will be displayed to the right. Rooms that are expanded are shown.
